Helping Military Families
|
Building on an 18-year legacy, the Warren Parent Advisory Board (PAB), which consists of both military and civilian participants, invites all parents living in homes in Cheyenne who have children enrolled in the CDC, FCC, or YC programs to attend meetings. They are held quarterly at times and dates that will be announced on the PAB website. It is Warren's Parent Advisory Board, the liaison between parents, children, youth, and youth programs that has changed the focus from problems to solutions.

The child's best interests are better served by being addressed in an open environment. As the PAB encourages comment and listens to concerns, it turns out that relationships are enriched and communications are improved. Priorities are straightened out. So, too, meetings are measurably more fruitful and fun. According to Tech. Sgt. Kristen Salinas of the 90th Force Support Squadron and president of PAB, "Now, we can come together motivated, and create opportunities to show our appreciation to the parents and staff of the CDC, family child care and youth programs."
PAB encourages parents to be involved in all of their children's activities, including those sponsored by the PAB. Some of the events sponsored by PAB include art shows, appreciation potluck lunches for staff, tea parties for Mother's Day, playground clean-ups, the Teddy Bear Picnic, Ice Cream Socials, the Family Craft Party, and the Red, White and Blue Day Parade.
